What is the spirit of rejection?
Before we jump into what the spirit of rejection is we will discuss where it stems from. The spirit of rejection is a heart wound. As discussed in previous blog; man is a triune being.
We are made up of our: SOUL: Mind, Will, Emotions BODY: Physical self, internal organs, cellular and organ system SPIRIT: Conscience, Connection to Spirit of GOD and your Inner Man/Your Heart is where your soul & spirit unite.
Now that we know our spiritual anatomy we can discuss the meaning of heart wounds. Heart wounds are usually caused by trauma. They are are the spiritual scars of being abused, betrayed, physically assaulted, abandoned, or rejected by someone we love. Heart wounds can disturb all parts of the soul. When not properly confronted and healed(with inner healing & prayer) they begin to wreak havoc on both the physical life & spiritual life of an individual. Unhealed heart wounds masquerade as depression, anxiety, stress disorder, obesity, unemployment, laziness, unsucessfulness, and failure to launch.
Back to Spirit of Rejection…..
Rejection from a caregiver, trusted adult, caregiver or relative can shock the psyche of a young child. Rejection in practical terms is: a father or mother leaving you and never returning, a parent on addicted to drugs or alcohol, a parent in prison, or an emotionally unavailable parent. Rejection also shows up as word curses spoken by loved ones(You’re stupid, ugly, slow, never gonna amount to anything, she’s dumb). These words sink down into your subconscious and begin to control your actions. As the years go by and you perceive more things as rejection your body begins to store these instances in your inner man, your heart. Now by the time you’re 25 and you want to go for a higher up position or start your business you’re so excited about….you take 2 steps forward then 4 steps back. Those words begin to replay in your mind every time you want to take productive action toward reaching a goal (You’ll never amount to anything….you can’t do this…remember your dad left you b/c you weren’t good enough then and you’re not good enough now…). Then you’re in an everlasting cycle of self-sabotage & failure. Let’s look at a biblical example.
A Biblical Example
“We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them” (Numbers 13:33)
This verse shows the mindset of rejection. When Moses sent the 12 spies to spy out the Promised Land, 10 came back with this report. The saw the good things GOD had promised them but all they could speak about was how small they were in their OWN EYES, and how they must also be small in the eyes of the inhabitants. They still had a slave mindset. They still carried the spirit of rejection that was the residue of being enslaved, or being a descendant of slavery. The spirit of rejection will cause every positive thing you see to be shot down because all your soul is wounded and not healed from the original trauma. Trauma causes you to see things distorted. Then your thoughts become distorted. Then your beliefs, then your actions.
The healing of trauma is the key to being free from the sabotaging mindsets and spirit we carry. Recently the Holy Spirit spoke to me about how these traumas lie in conscience and sabotage our lives because they control our soul(mind/will/emotions).
The solution is Heart Healing. When I was developing my ministry curriculum ABBA told me that Heart Healing is always the first step. Why? Whatsoever a man believes in his heart; so is he. PROV. 23:7. Our world operates on faith and belief. This is why Satan is so adamant on attacking you with fear, disbelief, discouragement, and personal attacks against your character. If he can pollute your heart and mind, he can rest for the rest of your life, because you will walk in confusion and defeat for the rest of your days. Step 2: Exposing the root cause Step 3: Walking thru Forgiveness Step 4: Applying the Balm of Gilead
So I invite you to begin heart healing. I provide ministry in this area and am called to assist others in becoming free from the lies they’ve believed and helping them uncover who GOD created them to be. If you are interested please reach out to me and request a inner healing coaching session. I’d love to hear from you and to help you on your journey.
